| My adult classes are much harder to impress than the kids. I try to throw a few laughs into the class, though. We have to strictly follow a book, but it's pretty good and I think they get something out of it. I worked at this school, the International Village Language Center, for about six months before I had to quit. It was too far away from home (45 min) and too late at night (9:30 pm) but only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. | |

ShiLin District (士林區) a nice part of Taipei near the mountains. On the other side of the trees is the famous ShiLin Night Market. I've been a few times, there are a LOT of food stalls inside a sweltering hot warehouse. People go from stall to stall eating until they've had a meal. Down the street is an outdoor street market that mostly sells cheap clothes. |
| Some kind of protest or campain rally. People in Taiwan often have strong political feelings. | ![]() |
